The One Life foundation has been working since 2016. It supports children without removing them from troubled families, instead motivating their mothers to pull themselves together, change course and get back on the right path.
The team firmly believes that no shelter can replace a family for a child. Its staff work through the details of each case and get to the root of the problem, so that together with the parents they can overcome what looks like force majeure.
What the foundation does: — feed and clothe a child when the mother cannot; — deliver nappies and food to large families left without any means of support; — take a child off the street and place them in one of the shelters we work with; — get a child ready for school; — help a mother find work; — provide legal support in matters of motherhood, fatherhood and childhood; — support any charitable initiative that prevents social orphanhood.
One Life oversees four shelters in the Moscow region: Ray of Hope and The Happiness of Giving Happiness, both in the Odintsovo district, and the Dmitry Donskoy and Euphrosyne of Moscow shelters in Kolomna. They are run by a team of professionals, like-minded people and volunteers with long experience of providing different kinds of social support to families in trouble.
